I decided to construct the costume of Raiden, a player in the video game Mortal Kombat. I recycled a maxi dress and added shoulder pads so the sash would fall appropriately on my frame. The fabric choice/DIY nature of the costume garnered attention at AnimeExpo, and pictures were re-tweeted by the original creator of the video game.
These moccasins were a fun hand-sewing project with multiple layers of materials and intricate beading.
